Team17 Releases The Escapists 2 Reveal Trailer from TwitchCon

Team17 and developer Moudy Toof has released the very first gameplay teaser revealing The Escapists 2, the forthcoming sequel to their 1.8 million-selling indie smash hit of 2015.

the all-new trailer reveals just some of what’s in store next for fans of the popular sandbox prison-escape series when it launches on Xbox One, PlayStation® 4 computer entertainment system and Steam in 2017.

  • Multiplayer – In a first for the series, The Escapists 2 offers drop-in/drop- out play offering both split screen and online play for up to four players in both co-op and versus modes
  • New ways to escape – Tie together knotted sheets and use them to climb down high windows in our new multi-level prisons and other new ways to make a break for freedom!
  • New items to craft – Build yourself a homemade taser to knock out guards plus many more!
  • New combat system – A completely revamped combat system featuring new lock-on targeting and blocking systems plus light and heavy attacks
  • New graphical style – A brand new look immerses players in a deeper, richer world while maintaining that unique The Escapists style
  • More character customisation – New customisation options let players tweak their avatar to a whole new level. Play as a girl! Go bald! Sport a mullet! The choice is yours
  • More things to do – Join a band! Learn to paint! The Escapists 2 will offer more ways than ever to pass the time whilst incarcerated

Nidhogg 2 Announced and will be Playable at TwitchCon

Messhof has announced a sequel to the addicting, competitive side-scroller Nidhogg. Nidhogg 2 will be release on PC in 2017. This time around the game will feature online play.

  • Completely overhauled detailed environments and animations
  • 10+ levels of fencing goodness
  • Local and online multiplayer and tournament mode
  • Play single-player against a series of AI opponents with occasional special challenge rounds

Nidhogg 2 will be playable in the Indie District at TwitchCon, and will have an Indie Stage live stream, on October 1 at 5:15 p.m. PT.

Fatal Fury, Samurai Shodown and more are coming to PS4 Arcade Archive

Neo Geo games will join Hamster’s to bring out some new Arcade Archives titles to the PlayStation 4. They companies announced the following five games will be added

  • Alpha Mission II
  • Fatal Fury: King of Fighters
  • The King of Fighters ’94
  • Metal Slug
  • Samurai Shodown

No exact date has been announced yet be we will be sure to post an update once they announce one.

Final Fantasy Trading Card Game is Heading West

Many people might not know this, but Final Fantasy has a very popular trading card game in Japan named FINAL FANTASY Trading Card Game or”FFTCG”. As of today Square-Enix has announced that Opus 1, the first Final Fantasy Trading Card Game set, will be heading to North America October 28.

The first set, entitled “Opus 1”, will feature 216 cards with iconic designs from highly acclaimed artists including Tetsuya Nomura, Yoshitaka Amano and Akihiko Yoshida, covering nearly 30 years of FINAL FANTASY. New cards themed after FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE™, DISSIDIA®, and WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY™ will also make their debut in Opus 1.Each card in Opus 1 will also have  a premium “foil” version, making this set a must have for all the collectors out there.

Sony announced that the PlayStation Experience 2016 Will Hit Anaheim, CA this December

Sony Interactive Entertainment America announced that they will host the PlayStation Experience 2016 from December 3 to 4 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.

The show will kick off at 10:00 AM on Saturday with the PlayStation Showcase, and from there, you’ll be let loose to play all weekend long!

Capcom Cup will also be returning to PlayStation Experience this year, with the finals taking place on Saturday at 6:00 PM. Watch the top qualifying players from the Capcom Pro Tour compete for more than $250,000 in prizing and the chance to be crowned the Street Fighter V world champion.
