Play Nintendo Tour 2016

Nintendo isn’t known as fun for all ages for no reason.  To help share the nostalgia we felt playing a Nintendo game while growing up with the next generation, Nintendo is touring to 12 different cities creating a small Nintendo world in shopping malls across the country and inviting families to participate in the fun.

Play Yoshi’s New Island in a giant Yoshi egg, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D on a banana bean bag, Kirby: Planet Robobot on comfy pink beanbags; you can also take a selfie driving a Mario Kart after playing Mario Kart 7 beneath a Spiny Shell, or next to a giant Pokeball after rekindling your memories of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Saphire.  And don’t forget to jump into the world of Yo-Kai Watch.

Children have a chance to explore each of the seven games, answer quiz question for each “world”, and have a chance to win a special Nintendo plush from the Nintendo Klaw Machine at the end of their journey.  Lucky participants can also have a chance to face off and compete for a grand prize. And everyone wins!

Here’s more details on AW: Phoenix Festa, via Bandai Namco:

A.W.: Phoenix Festa is based on a popular Japanese light novel — The Asterisk War: The Academy City on the Water, where in the 20th century a catastrophic event known as the Invertia leads to the destruction of many large cities on Earth. In order to recover from the devastation, the Integrated Enterprise Foundation is formed and cities are reorganized including one city called Rikka, also known as Asterisk. Within Asterisk, six academies hold tournaments called “Festas” pitting students from each academy against each other.

A.W.: Phoenix Festa combines dating sim mechanics and combat in one game and features its own original storyline carved from the light novel series. The game will let fans experience a true love adventure with numerous endings. A.W. : Phoenix Festa will also offer players various options to enhance relationships between their favorite characters which can be influenced through battles and conversations with non-playable characters (NPCs). Players may start the game as main character Ayato or an original character and go about daily school life by making friends and competing in the “Phoenix Festa” tournament. Players also train themselves in order to increase their combat abilities as they prepare to participate in the “Phoenix Festa” tournament with their favorite characters.

Review: The Magic Circle (Xbox One)

This will leave an impression

Originally released back in July of 2015, I had never heard of The Magic Circle, so as I began playing it I was unsure of what I was getting myself into. It looked like it was a black and white game and it began as your village was being attacked, things quickly took a turn for the weird for me. I went to an un-burned hut and got a pop up box stating the game wasn’t finished!

Without spoiling too much, I met the “creators” they took my weapon almost got me killed and then deleted me. Then it was over, back at the title screen a mysterious voice contacted me and told me we were going to finish the game. That’s when the game truly began.

The game is of the puzzle genre, editing your enemies and world to solve said puzzles. I enjoyed trying to figure these out because they were unconventional. For example, at the beginning of the  game I found a fireproof rock and took its fireproofing powers away, and later I found a volcano, so I gave my fireproofing to an ally and voila he couldn’t die in lava.

The graphics of the game are nothing all that great to look at, but that’s the style it was made to be, an unfinished game has no color, apparently. The only color we see are from auras created by your character and some enemies. There are other parts of the game that are retro styled and these also have color, they have a very 64 bit era look to them, I think they are neat.pua4a042cf4fd6bfb47701cbc8a1653ada-1461599353-5085844-screenshot-original
pua4a042cf4fd6bfb47701cbc8a1653ada-1461599344-662864-screenshot-originalThe game is pretty fun and the puzzles are challenging enough to keep me playing. I definitely recommend it.
