Interplay is selling off IP Rights for Earthworm Jim, Boogerman and more

We haven’t heard much from Interplay for a while, except that they “were” working on a new Clayfighter game, but I believe this project is dead as of now. Interplay has entered a process to sell off its assets and intellectual property, according to Nasdaq press release.

The full amount of its IPs from Interplay is about 70, with more characters expected to be in the sale, but those included in the press release are: Battle Chess, Boogerman, Clay Fighter, Dark Alliance, Descent, Earthworm Jim, Freespace, Kingpin, M.A.X., Messiah, MDK, Redneck Rampage, Run Like Hell, Sacrifice, T-Rex Rumble, and Giants.

Earthworm Jim creator, Mike TenNapel tweeted after the news.

What are your thoughts and memories with Interplay Titles, and what good do you hope to see come from this? Leave your thoughts and comments below.
