Allison Road Cancelled

Cancelled

Yet another horror game dies mid production. Lilith Ltd announced on Twitter that the production of Allison Road has been cancelled.  The “spiritual successor” of Kojima’s P.T., Allison Road gave fans hope of seeing another survival horror come to fruition.  As of yet, we are not sure why the game was cancelled but a statement should be released within the next few days.

Allison Road had its initial launch on Kickstarter, but ended the campaign when Team 17 picked up the publishing rights.  The plot of Allison Road follows the protagonist (you) who wakes up one day without any recollection of what happened.  You have five nights to discover the whereabouts of your family, learn the mysteries of the house, and face dark entities residing in the house.

I was excited to see another survival horror game, especially since P.T. still gives me the chills every time I play it, but it looks like we’ll have to see if someone else will pick up the torch.

Playstation and Kojima Purchase the Rights to Konami

Break ups can be tough and it can get even harder when your ex comes after you for everything you own.  This is exactly what is happening between Konami and game developer Hideo Kojima.  After a long, drawn out break up which started in 2015, Hideo Kojima, now partnered with PlayStation, has bought all the rights to Konami.

After long talks with PlayStation in early 2016, it was decided by both parties to buy out  Konami.  Doing so would not only give Kojima the rights for the Metal Gear Solid series, but allow him to resurrect the dead Silent Hills project.

As of yet there is no word on how much Kojima offered Konami.

If we’ve learned anything from this sordid relationship, we have certainly learned that payback can be a bitch.  Sign those prenupts, and have a happy April Fool’s day!
