Xbox: New features and updates

With the release of new games, Xbox is now offering Xbox Play Anywhere, a cross play feature between Xbox and Windows 10; buy the game once and you will have it for both systems starting October 11, 2016.

Xbox One is working to improve backward compatibility and cross play.  Some changes they are bringing is background music (to listen to your own music while you play), the ability to choose your preferred language no matter which region you reside, Cortana, and Xbox live on all devices (iOS, Android, Xbox, Windows).  More new features will include: Clubs for Xbox communities which make it easier to find other players; Groups which will be like a “want ad” for multiplayer; and Arena as the new competitive gaming platform where players can register and compete in tournaments.

In addition, some awesome hardware options Xbox is offering is, of course, the new Xbox One S, a Gears of War 4: Elite Wireless Controller Exclusive Design, and the ability to order customized controllers.

Games Coming Soon to Xbox One:

Killer Instincts: With the Gears of War 4 release announcement, KI is adding General Raam to the roster.  You can try him for free this week.

Forza Horizon 3: Forza takes you to Australia with open world racing courses, new terrains, gameplay, challenges, and new vehicles. Forza offers a 4 player campaign where you can instantly join co-op modes online. It will be the most social Forza ever. Another exclusive to Xbox One and Windows 10, Forza Horizon 3 will be available September 27th, 2016

Final Fantasy XV: Square Enix showed the awesome gameplay of Final Fantasy  XV on Xbox One. The graphics look amazing and the game promises a fast and fluid battle system.  Final Fantasy XV will be available September 30, 2016.

Battlefield 1: Battlefield 1 takes you back to the epic warfare of  WWI.  The game features excellent gameplay, immersion, strategy, and team play on a dynamic battlefield. You can play with 4-6 players or single player using a variety of new weapons and vehicles.  Battlefield 1 will be available October 21, 2016.  However, if you have EA access or Xbox Live you can play it first October 13, 2016.

Minecraft:The new Friendly update is now offering cross play for iOS, Android, Xbox Live, Windows, and VR devices. The Friendly update  allows you to connect with your friends and other players on all platforms to bring into your Minecraft realm. Texture packs and add-ons are also coming this fall which will allow you to modify characters and blocks. Xbox live members can try Minecraft Realms for free.

Gwent: The Witcher Card Game: Offers cross play across different platforms, a full blown multiplayer experience, as well as a single player campaign.  Go to playgwent.com to register for the exclusive beta.  We can see the game released September 2016

Inside, (June 29th): To celebrate launch Limbo will be free to all Xbox Live players starting today.

Tekken 7: Aside from the competitive mode, Tekken 7 will have an epic story mode with seamless transitions to cinematic scenes.  Xbox Live Gold members will receive a free copy of Tekken Tag Tournament 2.
Sea of Thieves: Embark on adventures with your friends, explore worlds, find treasures, and face off against creatures. 
Halo Wars 2: Continuing the adventures of the Spirit of Fire.  In Halo Wars 2, your crew will wake up in the alien construct known as the Arc.  You will be fighting a new faction called “The Banished”. Halo Wars 2 will be available February 21, 2017.  A week long beta, however, is available on Xbox One now (June 13-20).
